The video game introduces a new protagonist named Lexine to the storyline, and when the crew begins to fall prey to an unknown infection inside the ship, it becomes abundantly evident that guarding Lexine may be their last chance of escaping with their lives. The plot of Dead Space Extraction revolves around a small group of space colonists who are attempting to flee from a terrible sickness that has spread throughout the Aegis VII mining colony, which is located in the most remote parts of known space.
